CoolRyds is your new best friend! It’s also Jamaica’s premier taxi-hailing app that matches you with a professional driver whenever you need a safe, affordable ride to- anywhere on the island.

WHAT DO I NEED TO USE THE COOLRYDS APP?

Not much.Just a smartphone, mobile data and a Visa debit/credit card.

WHERE DO I FIND THIS AWESOME APP?

The CoolRyds App is available for download in the Play Store for Android users and in the App Store for iOS users.

USING THE COOLRYDS APP

HOW DO I REQUEST A RIDE WITH THE COOLRYDS APP?

Let’s get you on the go!

First, set your pickup location. To do this, enter the location in the designated area above the map or drag the pink pin to your pickup location on the map.Tap the + sign to the right of your pickup location to get to the destination box.This part is optional, but you can’t get an estimate if we won’t know where your Ryd ends.Select the type of Ryd you want,and then swipe the Ryd bar upwards to reveal the Ryd request interface.From here, you get cool information like estimates (if you entered a destination), your ETA (which you can share with family and friends),and vehicle seating. This is also where you enter any promo code. Once you’re cool with what you’ve seen, hit ‘Request Ride’; enter the number of passengers and tap ‘Now’ to let us know you need a Ryd now.

DO I REALLY NEED EMERGENCY CONTRACTS AND HOW DO I ADD THEM TO MY PROFILE?

Yes, you do need at least one emergency contact because your safety is our priority. Plus, you can’t request a Ryd without one. Go ahead and add that really awesome, responsible individual who has

your back no matter what.To add a cool emergency contact (or a couple of them), swipe right to access the in-app menu and select ‘Emergency contacts’. Fill in the required fields and you’re done!

HOW DO I SCHEDULE A PICKUP?

To schedule a pickup, request a Ryd as normal, but instead of tapping “Now”, tap “Later”. You will be prompted to specify a time for pickup. After confirming the time you can check your scheduled Ryds under the “Rides” option in the menu.

HOW DO I GET A RYD ESTIMATE?

You can only get a Ryd Estimate if you specify a destination location. After you’ve selected your pickup and destination locations, swipe the Ryd bar upward and tap “Ride Estimate”. The cost shown gives a pretty good idea of how much you’ll pay but it will not be the final cost as your Ryd is priced based on distance, time taken and Ryd selected.

HOW DO I VIEW/CHANGE MY PAYMENT METHOD?

Though you are required to set a payment method upon registering you can view and change your preferred payment method from the “Payment Info” tab. To add a corporate account as a payment option your organization must provide a registration code.

HOW DO I PAY FOR MY COOLRYDS?

Once the Ryd has ended the cost will be displayed on the app. Just tap “Pay” to make the payment. Tips are optional but really cool.

HOW DO I PROVIDE FEEDBACK ABOUT THE SERVICE?

You get to tell us on the app what your Ryd was like and if you’re satisfied with your driver and the experience. We are always eager to hear from you so don’t be shy! Each comment, suggestion and rating is taken into account when assessing our team.

MY DRIVER’s INFORMATION DIDN’T MATCH WHAT WAS ON HIS/HER PROFILE.

If your driver, your driver’s vehicle or the license plate on said vehicle doesn’t match the information displayed in the CoolRyds app please report this to us through the support system *hyperlink to contact us* or your driver rating.

HELP! I THINK I LEFT SOMETHING IN MY COOLRYD, HOW DO I GET IT BACK?

Worry not. Contact us here *hyperlink to contact us* as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to recover your belongings.

WHERE DO I ENTER PROMO CODES?

Enter promo codes before requesting a ride by tapping “Promo Codes” after swiping the Ryd bar up.

I DON’T HAVE A VISA DEBIT/CREDIT CARD.CAN I PAY WITH CASH?

Unfortunately no. The CoolRyds platform does not allow cash payments. However, we may consider this in the future should a collective need arise.

IS TIPPING A PART OF THE APP?

Yes! Tipping is not required but you have the opportunity to tip your driver through the app right before confirming payment.

HOW DO I SPLIT THE FARE WITH OTHER RYDERS ?

Now, this is a really awesome feature. At any point during a Ryd you can select the “Split Fare” option to send share requests to contacts. If they accept the share request it allows them to take part in the Ryd in the app whether or not they’re in the car with you! Once the Ryd is concluded the cost is split amongst all participating Ryders. The more- the merrier!

CAN I REQUEST A RYD FOR SOMEONE ELSE ?

Yes! Just specify their pickup and destination locations, and request the Ryd as usual. Make sure to call the driver to confirm your friend’s details!

ARE THERE OTHER BENEFITS BESIDES YOUR REALLY COOL SERVICE ?

Of course! You can receive referral bonuses. How? Share your invite codes from the in-app side menu to give friends a free Ryd!

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR BECOMING A COOLRYDS DRIVER ?

To be a CoolRyds driver you need the following:

• A licence to operate a contract carriage;

• A vehicle you can operate legally as a contract carriage;

• A clean criminal record.

COOLRYDS DRIVERS ARE INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS?WHAT DOES THAT MEAN ?

It means you call the shots! OK, maybe not all the shots, but there’s no rigid schedule or limit on your potential earnings; you choose when you work and for how long. Bear in mind though that you are fully responsible for paying your taxes.

HOW DO I APPLY TO BECOME A COOLRYD DRIVER?

DO DRIVERS GET TO RATE RYDERS ?

Certainly! You can rate your Ryder once payment is successful. We take your comments, suggestions and ratings seriously as we continuously work to make each Ryd an enjoyable experience for all parties involved.

HOW DOES THE PAYMENT SYAYTEM WORK?

CoolRyds collects payment for your Ryds and we make payment to your bank account every Thursday.

HOW MUCH DOES COOLRYDS TAKE AS COMMISSION ?

CoolRyds takes only 20% of the Ryd cost, not including tip of course.

WHAT IF I DONT’T HAVE A SMARTPHONE ?

DON’T I NEED MOBILE DATA TO BE A DRIVER?

Yes, but don’t worry, as a part of the onboarding process we can add you to our CUG plan. We would deduct a nominal upkeep charge from your earnings monthly.
